WWF

The Worldwide Fund for Nature (WWF) has widely been recognised as the world’s leading conservation organisation.

To quote their website:
"With almost five million supporters distributed throughout five continents, WWF has a global network active in over 90 countries and can safely claim to have played a major role in the evolution of the international conservation movement."

To maintain their leading position, the WWF College invests in their professional experts’ management capabilities.

For the last 4 years Zorn Consultants has supported the WWF College in developing their blended learning techniques including face2face workshops and eCoaching. F2f sessions initiate contact, the introduction of new practices and cooperative learning. The online follow-up supports on-the-job application and establishes practical knowledge sharing. This approach allows participants to call upon their colleagues' and coach's support when facing concrete challenges in the workplace.

With the system in place, professional experts continue to develop and share management expertise.

As a consequence management is better equipped to handle the complex challenges of conservation and individual knowledge has become a resource that everyone can use.

Some working examples

SC Johnson

SC Johnson, the Family Company has been established for over 115 years. It’s cleaning and maintenance products are well loved by customers in nearly 70 countries world-wide.

Since summer 2003 Zorn Consultants has worked with SC Johnson’s on their European communications.

Good business for SC Johnson relies upon smooth communication between Marketing and Production, and the flawless distribution of goods.

We have supported managers in their communication efforts with their European colleagues resulting in enhanced cross boarder communications.

Work with SC Johnson is ongoing. The future holds many possibilities such as online team rooms to facilitate the co-operation processes of remote European teams. This would enhance communication and innovation across boarders while saving travel time and costs.

Participants’ feedback

On some of our f2f sessions:

“Hints on knowing how to deal with Far East suppliers have been a significant benefit.”

“[Now I can] gear e-mail type communications and requests so that they are more likely to receive a helpful response.”

“Understanding ‘individual success factors’ in typical organizations. This has helped explain to why it has been difficult to get staff to take on ‘cross functional’ project management tasks because they are not seen as career steps. This has led me to rethink the project organization.”

“Understanding others perspective and how information is likely to be interpreted when received.”

[Particularly relevant was:] “Culture differences in meetings, and decision making.”
